The observation that started it
The idea for Limanutal came from a specific kind of frustration. Watching a well-run business invest significantly in a new channel because their data showed a strong correlation between that channel and customer acquisition. The correlation was real. The causal relationship was not. The actual driver was something entirely different that happened to move in the same direction during the same period.
That pattern is not unusual. It shows up in marketing attribution, in operational efficiency reviews, in product development decisions. The data was accurate. The interpretation was not. And nobody in the room had the vocabulary or the framework to catch it before the budget was committed.
Why real examples matter
Academic treatments of cognitive bias and statistical reasoning exist. Some of them are excellent. The challenge is that they tend to use examples drawn from psychology experiments and research contexts. Those examples do not transfer naturally to the experience of reading a quarterly revenue report or evaluating a supplier's performance data.
We built this programme entirely around business contexts. Every example is drawn from the kinds of decisions that actually appear in commercial settings. The errors look different when they are sitting inside a chart your finance team produced rather than in a textbook diagram.
Recognition is the first step. You cannot catch an error you cannot name or picture.
The approach we settled on
We considered a few different formats before settling on the current structure. Short videos alone do not produce durable habit change. Reading materials alone rarely get applied. What works is a combination: exposure to a named pattern, then immediate application to a recognisable scenario, then a retrieval prompt that forces you to articulate the principle in your own words.
The programme is structured around that sequence. Each module introduces a specific thinking error, walks through at least two business examples in detail, and ends with a practical question set that you can apply to your own work immediately. The reference card you receive at the end is designed to be kept accessible, not filed away.

The errors we cover are well-documented in the literature on judgment and decision-making. We draw on that research without making the programme feel like a research paper.
Built from commercial experience
Every module is stress-tested against real business contexts. If an example does not resonate immediately as something that could happen in a real organisation, it does not make it into the programme.
Designed for retention
A training programme that gets forgotten two weeks later has limited value. The structure and the reference materials are specifically designed around what makes learning stick.

The goal is not to pass a quiz. It is to change how you approach the next data claim you encounter at work. The programme is evaluated against that standard.
